Michael Kelly takes tone up another notch by hand scalloping the bracing to really open up the tone. We use a unique Burled Ash wood for the back and sides that looks as great as it sounds. Like all MK acousitc basses, it has a 34" scale length for perfect string tension and tone. The other reason that the Club Custom is all about sound, is that it feature the Fishman MKAB acoustic bass amplification system. Developed exclusively for Michael Kelly by Fishman, this is one of the first pre-amps specifically made for acoustic bass, while almost any other acoustic bass on the market has a pre-amp made for guitar, this amplification is made for bass players.
